What is the Pre-College Science and Math Program?

The Pre-College Science and Math Program has be specifically designed to motivate personal development and excellence in scholastic performance of youth. Its emphasis is on enrichment through interdisciplinary projects, experiments, field trips and interaction with visiting scientist, and educators.

Mission: To extend the learning process beyond the schoolhouse and to address the primary mission of the student's educational success.

Goals: To actively encourage and enable under-represented students in grades K-12, teaching then to be proficient in mathematics and science. Preparing these students to enroll in and complete college with a science, math, engineering, or teaching degree and career.

Objectives

To increase and maintain students motivation to continue science, math, and technology studies in school.

To encourage students to maintain a positive attitude in science and math from elementary to high school.

To encourage underrepresented minorities to maintain high academic standards so they can filter into programs such as HANDS ON MINDS ON; DREAMS; MONAS; MESA and NSBE.

To provide students with hands on science, math and computer experience to stimulate interest.

To provide rewards for excellence in science and mathematics thereby fostering high academic performance.
